DFWHC Partners With Hospitals and Educators
A distance learning program originated by Texas Health Resources and El Centro College is now available to other hospitals in the DFW area. The model puts qualified hospital employees into an Associate Degree of Nursing program, which is based in the hospital of their employment.
The students receive lectures via high-speed data monitors in on-site classrooms. The student does the clinical rotation and laboratory on-site as well. The student/employee receives their training where they work. This model expands the capacitry of the nursing schools and produces well-trained, hospital-ready nurses. Candidates for this program are the hospital's own pool of employees wishing to advance their skills/training level and enhance their standard of living through a higher wage. THR has a studio in their corporate headquarters which broadcasts class lectures out to its sister hospital classrooms. The student is enrolled in the college and the college is the grantor of the degree.
