The Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council (DFWHC) has announced Rebecca “Becky” Tucker, vice president of Integrated Health Campuses (IHC) at Texas Health Resources, was chosen as the 2014 Young Healthcare Executive of the Year. “For more than 13 years, Becky Tucker has been a leader and innovator for Texas Health Resources,” said W. Stephen Love, president/CEO of DFWHC. “Her dedicated work in helping to provide high-quality and convenient healthcare for North Texas residents promotes quality of life and population health. She is known throughout the Metroplex as an inspiring leader who builds strong teams and achieves community goals.”

As vice president of IHCs and administrator of Texas Health Burleson since its opening in 2010, Tucker oversees daily operations, strategic planning and growth for campus and outpatient services. When the Burleson project was approved, Tucker took ownership of every phase of the center’s design, construction and opening. As a result of her accomplishments, Tucker has been assigned a critical role in executing Texas Health’s future ambulatory strategies and implementing IHCs across the system over a 16-county area.

In addition to Tucker, nominees included Jeremy Eaves, senior vice president financial operations, Baylor Scott & White Health; Joshua Floren, vice president of professional and support services, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano; and Shara Lynn Smith, director of marketing, Dallas Medical Center.

The DFWHC Board of Trustees created the award in 2005 to recognize young women and men in healthcare. Nominees must be 40 years of age or younger and employed by a DFWHC-member hospital.

Tucker will be presented the award during DFWHC’s 66th Annual Awards Luncheon, October 21 at the Arlington Convention Center. Jon Meacham will serve as keynote speaker while Dr. Wright Lassiter will receive the Distinguished Health Service Award. The event is sponsored in part by CampbellWilson, LLP and GroupOne Services.
