Following Monday’s release of The American Hospital Association’s findings from a poll of 25 different national health leaders regarding what strategies are most important to meeting the industry’s growth potential, Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council’s (DFWHC) President and CEO Steve Love offered his insight for a D Healthcare Daily article today.

Love was interviewed for the article “American Hospital Association Polls CEOs To Determine Most Important Growth Strategy” penned by Matt Goodman. The poll revealed findings were similar to those of North Texas CEOs, including:

• Improve cost management and efficiency;
• Increase clinical integration and expand coordinated care;
• Improve quality and patient safety;
• Integrate information systems;
• Foster innovation and change management;
• Increase patient engagement.

To reach these goals, Love said DFWHC’s members report re-evaluating job duties to include more strategic planning. The titles and duties among those in the C-suite are changing. Hospitals are using data to follow readmission rates and other quality-based care metrics. They’re putting more power in the hands of the consumer.

“All of this is going to help with efficiency,” Love said.
