DFWHC honors Hawthorne during ACHE event

11/14/2014

We would like to thank the American College of Healthcare Executives of North Texas (ACHE) for allowing the DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) to honor Douglas D. Hawthorne for his decades of service to healthcare and Texas Health Resources. Last night’s dinner during their membership meeting at the Adolphus Hotel was a great event and we were proud to be a part of it.

W. Stephen Love, president/CEO of DFWHC, presented Mr. Hawthorne with a plaque and gift, including a copy of a video that premiered during the event. The video was highlighted by comments from numerous healthcare executives from Baylor Scott & White Health, Methodist Health System, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Cook Children’s Health Care System, JPS Health Network and Children’s Health System of Texas.

The tribute was originally scheduled for DFWHC’s Oct. 21 Annual Awards Luncheon, but the event was cancelled due to Dallas’ Ebola response.

“We appreciate the ACHE of North Texas for allowing us a forum for this tribute,” Love said. “This is a great organization and we were grateful to be a part of their program.”

The ACHE of North Texas creates dynamic leaders by providing professional growth opportunities resulting in the overall improvement of healthcare in North Texas. Josh Floren, FACHE, of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, is the past president. Winjie Tang Miao, of Texas Health Alliance, became the new president last night.
