History

DFWHC Founded in 1978

In 1968, a group of Dallas Hospital chief executive officers created a local trade association and named it the Dallas Hospital Council. The association was created for the purpose of advocacy and public relations.

In 1978, the scope of the Dallas Hospital Council changed in order to embrace hospitals in Fort Worth. New articles of incorporation gave birth to the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council (DFWHC).

In 2003, DFWHC celebrated 35 years of service to the healthcare community. Today, it continues to broaden its services in response to the needs of hospitals across the North Texas region.

In 2005, DFWHC was embarking upon a new journey. In direct response to a dramatically changing hospital environment, DFWHC was transforming with new technology, new ideas and a new vision; operating and communicating in different ways with our members.

To reflect this transformation, DFWHC launched a new logo design depicting five crosses. The new logo details DFWHC's past boldly moving forward to the present. The five crosses emphasize DFWHC's proactive, collaborative approach towards creative solutions.
