AT&T Accelereates Technology Enhancements at DFWHC
Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Council members are experiencing improved service and faster response times thanks to funds provided by the AT&T Excelerator Grant.
The addition of a more powerful server enabled DFWHC's Data Initiative to double the number of hospitals which participate in our patient safety and quality information program. Representing nearly 25% of Texas inpatients the Data Initiative collects, analyzes, protects, stores, and disseminates discharge information hospitals use to improve the delivery of healthcare services in our region.
The time required to process up to several gigabytes of information can put a strain on any system. The server upgrade reduced a 20 hour request down to under 3 hours. This improved productivity allows for a far greater number of requests to be processed in series without staff involvement as in the past. The enhancement, as well as the redeployment of the older servers to other needs has positively affected all aspects of our business.
The Dallas - Fort Worth Hospital Council is a trade association of hospitals in North Texas committed to the continual improvement of patient care. Through the Data Initiative, Office of Disaster Preparedness, Workforce Center and GroupOne Services the DFWHC provides emphasis on the day-to-day needs of our members through key participatory programs.
